Sentiments of a sick, addicted father

On his children:

"I'm not in touch with them now, and I've never been happier."

Asked if he's sorry he had children:

"A couple of them I would take back"

When a young woman came up to say hello at his wife's funeral, he says:

I said to her, 'You have a drink on you? You have a car?'

The woman replied:

'Daddy, it's me -- Tatum!'

Oh Wow, this hits so close to home. Fortunately it has been many years ago, but....

And now, even today, how remiss I am in remembering my children, except the ones who keep in touch on their own.

Yes, I must remind myself of who I have been, or I'll be that person again.

That's pretty sad.
